Melbourne Stencil Festival 2009
Call for Entries & Message to Artists
Now in its sixth year the Melbourne Stencil Festival is putting out the call to all artists who wish to submit artworks for the 2009 exhibition with the extended deadline of 31st July 2009.
Having recently undergone some organisational restructuring MSF Inc wishes to encourage all of the stencil art fraternity to become involved in this year’s festival.
As such we are endeavouring to provide as many opportunities as possible for artists to participate in a range of activities and events currently being planned as part of the festival program.
This year we will once again be based at the Yarra Sculpture Gallery in Abbottsford and hope to provide other events, workshops and exhibits in the Collingwood Underground just over the Hoddle Street footbridge from YSG.
If you are receiving this message please pass it on to your friends and networks and keep a close eye on the MSF website for more updates. Our intention is to also include participating artists in the planning of events during the festival especially those taking place in the Collingwood Underground.
A meeting will be called in early July to discuss the possibilities with artists and volunteers to develop a program which is dynamic, collaborative and egalitarian. If you and your colleagues whish to help shape the future possibilities of this festival and participate with a passion then contact us and be put on our email list for up to date info.
BE THERE - BE IN IT - BE READY - ABOVE ALL BE PASSIONATE!!!
Cheers for now,
Phil Hall

The Melbourne Stencil Festival is Australia's premier celebration of stencil and street art. Held for 10 days each year, the festival brings a colorful program of exhibitions, live artist demonstrations, artist talks, panel discussions, workshops, master classes and street art related films to the general public.
Since its inception in 2004, the Melbourne Stencil Festival has focused on benefiting practicing stencil and street artists. At the same time, the festival has sought to benefit the community through participation, understanding and collaboration of stencil and street art and promote Melbourne as a global centre of stencil art.
