The Melbourne Stencil Festival Association

The Melbourne Stencil Festival Association is a not for profit organization. As with many not for profit organisations the MSF has a straight forward committee structure; president, vice president (artist representative), treasurer, secretary and a general committee member. This executive committee oversees a number of sub-committees the covering; the organization of the stencil festival, artist liaison, volunteer management and marketing/PR.

Our  mission is:
The Melbourne Stencil Festival is focused on benefiting practicing stencil and street artists. At the same time, the festival seeks to benefit the community through participation, understanding and collaboration of stencil and street art and promote Melbourne as a global centre of stencil art.

This mission was developed from a lengthy debate on the purpose of the organization. In 2009 the purpose was updated to:

a) benefit the stencil and street art community and practising artists;
b) encourage community participation, understanding and collaboration;
c) promote Melbourne as a global centre of stencil art;
d) present the Melbourne Stencil Festival event.
e) support and document stencil and street art
f) maintain not for profit status
