2. The entered artwork must be relevant to the Street Art genre and of any medium(ie. paintings, sculptures, textiles).
3. The entered artwork must be new(completed in previous 12 months) and NOT to have been exhibited in any prior
exhibitions.
4. All art works entered by the artist must be the original artwork and concept of the artist.
5. There are no size or artwork medium restrictions for artworks entered.
6. Entry into the festival will be through pre-selection from digital JPEG files of each work of art to be entered.
Artists are to submit a maximum of 5 works/images for pre-selection.
7. The images must be submitted with the attached word document displaying artist’s name, title of painting, medium and
size of the work.
Each submission will also require the following;
• The artist’s curriculum vitae. • A non-refundable administration fee of AUS$40.00 Incl GST. • A proof of payment. 8. No third party may enter any works on behalf of an artist. 9. Entries that are late, incomplete, or without proof of payment will be rejected and the submission fee revoked. 10. If the artist is successful in being selected to exhibit at the 2009 Melbourne Stencil Festival the artist will be required to submit UPTO 5 works as advised by the MSF Committee. 11. The cost of freight and insurance for those works selected will be the responsibility of the artist. The Melbourne Stencil Festival will NOT be responsible for loss or damage whatsoever, and however caused, to any work whilst in its custody. Each artist is responsible for maintaining his/her own insurance coverage. 12. Artists who are selected to exhibit will allow their work to be reproduced for promotional and review purposes and or the future promotion of The Melbourne Stencil Festival Association. 13. All selected works of art which require hanging MUST have Flat ‘D’ rings attached at the back of the painting, 10cm down from top of frame. Please remove any other hooks or wire, as they can damage other artists’ works. Please note that wet paintings will not be accepted. 14. The artist agrees that all works exhibited shall be for sale, the sale price indicated in $AUS dollars on the entry form and shall remain fixed for the duration of the exhibition. An additional MSF fee of 30% Incl GST will be added to artists price. 15. Works selected for exhibition will be chosen by a panel of judges appointed by The Melbourne Stencil Festival Association. Works to be exhibited will be selected from the submitted JPEG images supplied by the artist. 16. Submission of entry into this competition automatically constitutes the artist’s acceptance of all competition conditions. The judges’ decision will be final and correspondence will not be entered into. 17. Artists whose work has been selected to exhibit shall be notified by email no later than the 27th of July 2009. A complete list of finalists will be published on the Stencil Festival website: www.stencilfestival.com 18. The artwork selected for exhibiton at The Melbourne Stencil Festival 2009 exhibition must be received no later than 5.00pm, 11th of September 2009 and forwarded to: ArtTruck Design Studio - 36 Cremorne Street, Richmond, Victoria 3121 Australia for delivery Monday to Friday between the hours of 10am and 5pm. 19. The Melbourne Stencil Festival Association reserves the right to vary these conditions at any time. NON REFUNDABLE ADMINISTRATION FEE A non refundable administration fee applies to all artist submissions for The Melbourne Stencil Festival 2009 exhibition. The administration fees of AUS$40.00 Incl GST entitles the artist to membershp of The Melbourne Stencil Festival Association. MELBOURNE STENCIL FESTIVAL 2009 CASH PRIZES Two cash prizes of AUS$1000.00 made by cheque will be announced on the 3rd of October 2009 at 3.30pm. The categories are as follows: AUS$1000.00 for best Melbourne based artist work as voted by The Melbourne Stencil Festival Association Committee. AUS$1000.00 for best overall work as voted by the public. RECEIPT AND DESPATCH If consigning artwork via post or carrier, prepaid return freight vouchers must be included with the artwork at the time of receipt. If the artwork is sold, the prepaid voucher will be returned to the artist. No payment whatsoever will be made by The Melbourne Stencil Festival Association for freight or other charges incurred in the delivery or return of entries. COMMISSION AND PAYMENT The net sale proceeds will be sent by cheque to the relevant artists within (35) days of the sale, provided all settlements have been made in accordance with the conditions of sale. Payment is made by cheque in $AUS dollars. INSURANCE The exhibitor will exercise all reasonable care in handling work submitted but will not be responsible for loss or damage to any work while in the custody of The Melbourne Stencil Festival Association or its agents. Artists are advised to insure their work against loss or damage. Artists are responsible for their own transit insurance. RETURN OF WORKS After the close of the exhibition all works not sold can be collected from the Yarra Sculpture Gallery between: 4pm - 6pm Sunday the 4th of October 2009 or 12pm - 4pm Monday the 5th till Tuesday the 6th of October 2009. Artworks will be returned in the original packing and it is the responsibility of the artist to ensure the packing material is sufficient for the return transportation of the artwork. Where arrangements have not been made for collection or return freight by the due date, the Organisation reserves the right to sell or otherwise dispose of the painting after the expiry of the due date.
